Welcome!

The 8th grade students in the Albina Mandarin Immersion Program (MIP) at Harriet Tubman Middle School in North Portland began studying Mandarin in kindergarten. They have worked hard for 8 years and overcome many obstacles to get to this point. As a "capstone" to their journey, the 8th graders will travel to Taiwan in April of 2025 to immerse themselves in the language and culture; including home stays, excursions to cultural sites and classroom visits. 100% of the net proceeds from MIP Merch are earmarked for the Taiwan trip. The students' goal is to raise $14,000 toward trip expenses and ensure every student is able to go regardless of ability to pay. The students are guided by parent volunteers, and payments are processed by Jin Ren, a 501c3 nonprofit led by parents.

Free local pickup will be available at/near Harriet Tubman Middle School! - 1/16 at MLK school - 1/31 at HTMS - 2/1 at the Chinese Cultural Fair (Convention Center) or as scheduled! If you need to arrange a different pickup time, or absolutely need shipping, just select a random pickup time and drop us a note!
